Peach and Apple tea with Cane Sugar (Ito En)

Yeah, I’ve been trying a lot of new teas lately, but these have topped the others. At around $1 a bottle (on sale), it’s a little more pricey than most, but you get what you pay for. No high-fructose corn syrup, just good old fashioned cane sugar. The tea tastes great, but since the sweetness is not overwhelming (like a lot of bottled teas), you can drink a lot of it and not feel sick to your stomach.

I just finished drinking my first peach flavored Ito En tea. I think the peach flavor is artificial tasting and the drink is a bit sweet. It tastes like those sour gummy peach slices. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but for a company that seems to be riding the “wholesome, natural” wave, I was a bit surprised. The flavor is nostalgic though.

I’m drinking my first bottle and I think it’s pretty good. Weird that you think the peach tastes artificial, as the peach flavor comes from Peach Juice Concentrate (read: real peach juice). Sure it kinda tastes like canned peaches more than fresh ones, but not artificial.
